YOU control what your body looks like

Inevitably, you can expect your body to change when you start doing new types of exercises - or increase the amount of time you exercise. Both were true in my 30 day challenge. I wasn't used to 90 minutes of exercise everyday - maybe 3/4 days a week - but not 7.

Overall, I was more pleased with the emotional benefits of yoga than I was with the physical benefits.

But -- I did see some changes. I lost approximately 8 lbs - which is not a huge deal (in my opinion) ... but I was really impressed when I took measurements and saw that just halfway through I had already lost an inch off my waist, thighs, and hips.

By the end of my 30 days, I had lost 2 inches off my hips, almost 2.5 off my waist (maybe cause I hadn't eaten that day?) and 1.5 off my thighs. It didn't feel like a surmountable change - my clothes fit the same and I didn't notice a difference in my body at all. But, people mentioned they saw changes more than once - so either I have an ignorance to change in my body or I did my tape measurements wrong and didn't lose an inch.

I really wish I took a before/after picture. I definitely plan to do that before my next 30 days (which will start June 10th - I am secretly anxious to get back in the yoga studio)
