Things I wish someone had told me before I moved to NYC:
1. Do not drive.
2. The subway is easy to learn.
3. Walk fast, otherwise someone will run into you.
4. Always carry a water bottle.
5. Not everyone who lives in NYC is fashionable.
6. You will be the only blonde.
7. Being overwhelmed is normal.
8. There are relatively cheap restaurants, look for them.
9. Duane Reade is a drug store.
10. Do not expect a cross country move to go smoothly, something will inevitably go wrong.
11. Laundry services are cheap, $1 for 1 lb of laundry :)
12. Being closer to family is not always easy.
13. Transitions are stressful, but you will survive.
14. Perfection takes time.
15. Allow yourself time, see above.
