"Either give me more wine or leave me alone" - Rumi

10. Take a wine tasting class

On Friday after work, Jessica and I ventured to Union Square to Corkbuzz for a blind wine tasting. Corkbuzz offers a $15 special where you get three flights of wine, a tasting grid and your own senses to guess the wines.

Your guess is as good as mine!

The whole experience was very telling; I know nothing about how to taste and/or determine types of wine. There were words on my tasting grid that even after a thorough explanation, I still didn't understand. It catapulted my desire to take an official wine tasting class.

My half completed tasting grid

I loved the entire experience. The tasting grid was divided into appearance, nose, palate and initial conclusion. I was able to reaffirm my dislike for Riesling and enjoy my first experience with R. Lopez de Heredia Rioja - a surprisingly delicious wine complimented with our amazing burrata starter.

Burrata, spring pea puree and crispy prosciutto

This was a great way to start my endeavors of achieving my 30 before 30 - I was able to declare my desire to learn more about wine and explore a new wine studio all while engaging in good conversations.

Next Step: Research wine tasting classes and pick one to attend where I can learn the basics and then some.
